Nine places to buy for your dog, and they split cleanly in two: small boutiques with a point of view, and large stores where you’ll find everything at once. Which you want depends on whether you’re buying a harness or a sack of food.
Pethavn on Amager is design-conscious and minimal — gear that looks like it belongs in a Copenhagen flat. Fru Poulsen in Frederiksberg is a neighbourhood boutique with handmade accessories, natural treats and good gifts. Petlux has three shops — Frederiksberg, Østerbro and Hellerup — all curated, premium and cleanly done. Hunni in Christianshavn is the one with a cause: community-focused, supporting rescue dogs through what it stocks.
Maxi Zoo has two: Østerbrogade, central and well-stocked, and Valby Vigerslev, large-format with room to browse. Zoo Center Østerbro is the local option — the basics, and staff who know what they’re talking about.
Every dog shop we’ve checked, grouped by neighbourhood. Each card links to its own page.
Maxi Zoo and Zoo Center carry the widest range. The Petlux shops focus on premium brands.
