A rare treat: dog-friendly events in Copenhagen this August
Looking for dog-friendly events in Copenhagen this August? Two rare outings put dogs centre stage — one at Tivoli, the other at Empire Bio. Mark your calendar, and give the group chat a heads-up too.
It's not every month your dog gets a proper excuse to dress up and go out — but August is offering up two that are worth a look (and a lead).
A rare treat indeed: two dog-friendly events in Copenhagen where dogs aren't just allowed, they're the main attraction.
Dogs' Day at Tivoli
Sunday 24 August, 11:00
Tivoli Gardens, Vesterbro
The one day a year dogs are welcome in the Gardens. Tivoli and the Danish Kennel Club will open the gates to all well-behaved dogs on leads. Expect treats, tricks, and tails in full wag. A proper day out for dogs and their people — with breed meetups, training advice, and more than a few photo ops.
HundeBio – Ternet Ninja 3
Saturday 30 August, 12:30
Empire Bio, Nørrebro
The final HundeBio of the summer. Anders Matthesen's hit animation (in Danish) will be screened at a lower, dog-friendly volume. Dogs go free — just remember to book them a seat. Blankets are provided to keep cinema seats and carpets clean. Expect a crowd of cuddled-up pups and a few well-timed barks in the quiet scenes.
These kinds of events don't come round often. One for the calendar — or at least the group chat.
